These delicious Kiri Mochi are mochi in its raw form - no fruit filling, jelly or anything else is added here. It is the very basic mochi made from 100% sticky rice.
Kirimochi can be prepared in several ways, and can be made as both sweet or savoury rice cake snacks. They can be boiled for a few minutes for a super chewy and silky texture, or they can be grilled either in an oven or over a grill, for a chewy but at the same time slightly crispy texture. They can even be fried on the pan for a golden brown and toasted taste.
